Hi, my name is Gaby and I’m here to talk about the SR22. What is an SR22? The SR22 is a financial responsibility filed by the DMV and needs to be carried for three consecutive years without a lapse coverage. The reason why you need an SR22 can be due to a lapse on your insurance or it can be due to a DUI that is drug or alcohol related or it can also be due to a manslaughter without death.

The SR22 is an endorsement added to your current auto policy or you can get an additional policy just for the SR22 by itself. You need to carry that for three years with no lapse in coverage. And also, once you pay that reinstatement fee and provide the proof of the SR22 to the DMV, you may be able to reinstate your driver’s license.
