Smith Legacy Stronger Together Foundation

The Smith Legacy Stronger Together Foundation was founded by descendants of John Anderson Smith Sr. and Delmon Smith. John Anderson Smith Sr. & Delmon Smith together had 9 children. All nine of their children completed high school and furthered their education, some by joining the military and others by obtaining a degree in higher education. John & Delmon did not have much education themselves; however, they placed a huge emphasis on education for all of their children, instilling in their children and grandchildren the importance of investing in your education. When the Board of the Foundation was formed, immediately the board recognized they all had a passion for enhancing the lives of underrepresented and marginalized students. As a Foundation, The Smith Legacy Stronger Together Foundation strives to make a difference in the lives of underrepresented students. Each member of the board has obtained post high school education, as they too believe that education sets the true foundation for success. The family not only includes members who have earned undergraduate and graduate level degrees, but two have also earned their doctoral degrees.
